About Frederico Roxo
Roxo’s journey begins with observation. From an early age, he developed a keen eye for processes, gestures, and the relationship between material and form.
At around six years old, while accompanying his grandfather in a workshop, he established his first connection with manual craft practices and with the knowledge passed down through generations of woodworkers in his family. This environment became the foundation of his understanding of construction, time, and precision.
Influenced by a maternal legacy that combines creativity and technical expertise, his work evolved at the intersection of intuition and material mastery. His practice is not merely an act of execution, but a continuation of an embodied repertoire of knowledge.
After the loss of his mentor, he founded his own workshop, creating a dedicated space for research and production. His trajectory has been defined by a sustained commitment to making, alongside the continual refinement of his process through learning and exchanges with fellow masters.
His work exists as an extension of both inheritance and self-construction, where the handmade gesture functions simultaneously as language and method.
Roxo inicia sua trajetória a partir da observação. Ainda na infância, desenvolve um olhar atento aos processos, aos gestos e à relação entre matéria e forma.
Por volta dos seis anos, ao acompanhar seu avô dentro de uma oficina, estabelece um primeiro contato com práticas manuais e com um conhecimento transmitido entre gerações de marceneiros existentes na família. Esse contexto constitui a base de sua compreensão sobre construção, tempo e precisão.
Influenciado por uma herança de sua mãe que articula criatividade e técnica, seu trabalho se desenvolve na interseção entre intuição e domínio material. A prática não se apresenta apenas como execução, mas como continuidade de um repertório incorporado.
Após a perda de seu mentor, ao fundar sua própria oficina, consolida um espaço de investigação e produção. Sua trajetória é marcada pela permanência no fazer e pela constante atualização de seu processo por meio do aprendizado e da troca com outros mestres.
